United States: The threat associated with COVID-19 is not yet over and now health officials and experts are concerned about the increasing side-effects of COVID-19 vaccines, which are considered as an important protecting agent against the virus and its spread.
Recently, a group of researchers have outlined that COVID-19 vaccines by Moderna and Pfizer can cause myocarditis, which is known as the inflammation of the muscles in heart and can result in the damage and weakness to the heart.
However, the conducted study has also outlined that the specified vaccines do not results in infertility, Guillain-Barré syndrome or Bell’s palsy, according to reports by US News.
The analysis from the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine subjected evidence of 12 disabled due to COVID-19 vaccine operation subsequent to the request from the Health Resources and Services Administration to create a committee in regard to this. The research in question covered many health conditions that contributed to getting to the skepticism stage regarding vaccines during the period COVID-19 pandemic.

Secondly, data indicates the vaccines neither precipitate infertility nor Bell’s palsy, a condition that makes rapid facial muscles to be paralyzed on one side only.
On top of that, the assessment shows that no candidiasis or vaccine-induced thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome – a rare disorder called TTS was found in the vaccines and there was no occurrence of the acute cardiovascular disease.
The assessment concluded that evidence was insufficient to affirm or refute a causal connection for several potential detriments, including chronic cephalalgia, tinnitus, capillary leak syndrome, and sudden demise.
“Despite a substantial body of evidence amassed through extraordinary endeavors by researchers worldwide, our committee found that in numerous instances, if not the majority, evidence was insufficient to either affirm or dismiss causality for a particular potential detriment from a specific COVID-19 vaccine,” stated committee vice chair Anne Bass of Weill Cornell Medicine, US News mentioned.
While the committee sought to investigate the potential detriments of COVID-19 vaccines for children, it determined that evidence was insufficient to draw specific conclusions for this demographic.
The committee also assessed potential detriments of the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, albeit noting a limited number of studies on the vaccine, likely due to its restricted utilization in the US.
Evidence suggests the Johnson and Johnson vaccine may instigate TTS and Guillain-Barré syndrome, according to the assessment.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration previously halted the use of the vaccine in 2021 following reports of six instances of a rare and severe type of blood clotting in individuals post-administration. The agencies lifted the recommended pause after ten days, asserting that they “have confidence that this vaccine is safe and effective in preventing COVID-19.” Subsequently, the FDA curtailed the use of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine due to the risk of TTS post-administration, which is no longer utilized in the US.
Bass emphasized that identifying a detriment does not imply its frequent occurrence.
“Detriments associated with vaccines are uncommon,” she remarked.
The assessment emerges shortly after another study published by the CDC concluded that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are not associated with sudden cardiac demise among previously healthy young individuals, the reports by US News mentioned.
The CDC and other public health authorities encountered a challenging task during the pandemic to persuade individuals that the COVID-19 vaccine was safe, as public figures like Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, and Robert F Kennedy Jr disseminated skepticism.
Nonetheless, over 81 percent of all adults received at least one COVID-19 vaccine, according to CDC data.
