Washington, United States: President of the United States – Joe Biden, is now ready with another expected reason behind Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7. Recently, the President hinted that the militant group was upset by the recent announcement of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor that will integrate the entire region with a network of roads, rail and ports.
The remarks were shared by the President during a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese.
Biden highlighted that he does not have any specific proof, but his instinct tells him. He can be quoted saying, “I’m convinced one of the reasons Hamas attacked when they did, and I have no proof of this, just my instinct tells me, is because of the progress we were making towards regional integration for Israel, and regional integration overall. We can’t leave that work behind.”
The India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor
During a meeting called the G20 Summit in New Delhi, India, some big countries like the USA, UAE, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Italy, and the European Union got together and agreed to work on the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor.

This corridor is a big plan to help countries in Asia, West Asia, the Middle East, and Europe to expand their business together. It is anticipated that this will make it easier for these countries to work together, helping them to grow and strengthening their diplomatic ties.
This corridor isn’t just one road; it’s two. The first one is the East Corridor, which is like a road connecting India to West Asia and the Middle East. It will make it easier for India to trade and share ideas with these nations.
The second road is the Northern Corridor, linking the rich areas in West Asia and the Middle East to Europe. It’s like a bridge that will help stuff like goods and services to move between these areas more smoothly.
In addition to this, it will also include a rail line, which will provide a cross-border ship-to-rail transit network to supplement the existing multi-modal transport routes. Upon completion, the module will also help in the enhancement of the transshipment of goods as well as services between the major reasons like South East Asia to West Asia/Middle East Europe, via India.

US President Joe Biden’s take on the corridor
President Joe Biden praised this new project and highlighted that the corridor will open multiple opportunities to invest for both continents. He further underscored that this rail project is an effort by the authorities to make the Middle East region more sustainable and integrated.
Latest update on Israel-Hamas war
Started on October 7, the Israel-Hamas war has entered its 20th Day. Presently, the authorities of Israel have been planning for a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip – a territory ruled by Hamas.
In this regard, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu highlighted that the goal of his administration behind this invasion is “saving the nation.” He underlined that the Defense Forces are all set to launch the ground operation but he declined to share details like when or how.
While addressing the nation, PM Netanyahu emphasized, “We are preparing for a ground incursion. I won’t specify when, how, how many. I also won’t detail the range of considerations, most of which the public is not aware of. And that’s the way it is supposed to be. This is the way so that we protect our soldiers’ lives,” according to a news agency.
He continued, “Israel is in the midst of a fight for our existence. The war’s two aims are “to eliminate Hamas by destroying its military and governance capabilities, and to do everything possible to get our hostages back.”
